Northwell Health to provide on-site game stretching and injury treatment

The Northwell Health Orthopaedic Institute offers a variety non-operative sports medicine treatments and specialty programs to enhance athletic performance and expedite recovery. The sports medicine team includes specialty trained sports medicine physicians, physical therapists, and athletic trainers to serve athletes throughout their continuum of care.

Meet Dr. Amy West

Amy West, MD is a non-operative sports medicine physician for the Northwell Health Orthopaedic Institute. She is a specialist in treating female athletes, in addition to being a female athlete herself. She plays in multiple NYC LGBT sports leagues and is also a founding physician of an LGBT focused orthopedic clinic, scheduled to open in the West Village this coming October 2021.

Dr. West was invited to participate in the 2021 LezVolley tournament by her friends from the NYGFL and thought it would be a great opportunity to offer her expertise to this population of athletes and have her organization support such a successful LGBTQ women event.
